This painting was created in preparation for my show with Inspired Arts League in New York City. My main painting is called “Into Thy Hands” and is about the moment that the Savior Jesus Christ overcomes death and His body ascended into heaven. After three hours of complete darkness, the light returned and I believe it was completely glorious in an attitude of Overcoming that reflected the event of the Savior’s ascension. I studied many skies and created a number of paintings of skies to test out different emotions. It was after doing this painting that I decided to recreate the same sky for my larger work.
